That’s Oscar. The brain behind “the oscar principle”.

Oscar’s got the hang of it. Oscar’s rich. Rich in time.

He does what he wants, when he wants and how he wants (but actually he only prefers to “chill”). The question of why he lives his life the way he does is answered with a logical countershot: “Why not? Why would you do it differently?”

Hmmm… good question… don’t we (almost) all do it in a very different way? We do what others want, when they want it and how they want it – many of us are caught in the daily rate race, whether we want or not.

This is not about selfishness, but about freedom and a sustainable life. How’s Oscar doing it? Because his currency is “time” and not “USD, EUR, CHF,…” – he has exchanged money for time, money for freedom.

First of all, time gives him the freedom to do what gives him satisfaction and secondly, time is a non-material wealth… so Oscar has no need to compare himself materially, to take part in the consumer competition. He only enjoys his time and freedom.

This gives him the time to be creative, to be there for himself and others and to do good – his life becomes free and sustainable.

How to apply “the oscar principle” and make time your currency and thus lead to a sustainable and free life is the subject of this blog.

In the words of Oscar Wilde: “Life is the rarest thing in the world – most people just exist.”
